Size optimization of planar truss systems using the modified salp swarm algorithm

This work evaluates the performance of salp swarm algorithm (SSA) for truss system optimization problems and presents a novel method called modified (MSSA). Five structures, previously optimized by metaheuristics containing discrete continuous variables, were used evaluations. Size size–shape types considered. Although SSA performs poorly has convergence issues in initial random solutions, it reaches comparable solutions to published results, particularly problems. In contrast, MSSA achieves best is relatively close results reference literature on Moreover, curves exhibit modest increase rates, especially It envisaged that findings will contribute improving solution performance, speed security future real-world applications.
